An adaptive AI video screening call, configured for your role

Sarah is Ployo's AI screener. She runs a short live video screening call with the candidates you choose to invite, typically 5 to 10 minutes, but tuned per role, working through a question set you author with us during onboarding: right-to-work, salary expectation, key certifications, years of experience, availability, or any custom check. When a candidate's answer is vague or incomplete she drills in adaptively. Every call is recorded end-to-end with a full transcript and per-question Met / Partial / Not-met results on your dashboard.

Three question types, your call entirely

Authoring is yours. Each role's screening call is composed of recruiter-defined questions in three formats: boolean (yes/no, e.g. "Do you hold the right to work in the UK?"), range (numeric with unit, years of experience, salary band, available hours per week), or text (open-ended, qualifications, work history, scenario probes). Each question can be marked "disqualify if not met" or left as data-gathering. No fixed bank, your screening, your rules.

Adaptive follow-ups, not a scripted form

Sarah handles ambiguous answers the way a recruiter would. If a question requires several components and the candidate only mentions one, she asks a single combined follow-up covering the missing parts. If an answer is suspiciously thin, she probes for specifics. If a substantive answer suggests the candidate doesn't meet a requirement, she runs a neutral verification check before scoring. Follow-up depth and call duration are bounded so the conversation stays focused, both budgets are configured per role with you during onboarding.

Pause-resume safe on web and mobile

Candidates can pause mid-call and resume from the exact question they left off, phone calls, doorbells, tech hiccups all handled. Mid-question state is preserved per turn; on resume Sarah re-asks the unanswered question rather than skipping it. Candidates take the call on whatever device suits them, when they're ready.

Full video, full transcript, per-question results

Every screening lands in your dashboard as a full MP4 recording, a chat-style transcript labelled "Sarah (AI)" vs "Candidate", per-question status (Met / Partial / Not-met) with normalized values (a salary expectation comes through as a structured number, certifications as a list), and an overall result rolling up to Met / Partial / Not-met. Optional English-fluency CEFR rating (A1–C2) on every candidate when enabled per assessment.

Pre-interview gates, when you want them

Some deal-breakers don't need a conversation, location, visa, salary band can be set to fail outright on the CV. For those, declarative gates can run BEFORE any screening invite goes out; ambiguous or borderline answers route into the live call instead. Mechanical path, conversational path, or both, the workflow is configured per role with you during onboarding so it matches how your team actually hires.

Why a video call and not a typed form?

A form catches what candidates write; a video call catches what they say, how they say it, what they leave out, and whether the claim on the CV survives a follow-up. The recording is the evidence. The transcript is the audit trail. The structured per-question result is the leaderboard. You get all three in one pass.

Won't candidates feel uncomfortable being screened by an AI?

Sarah is adaptive, polite, and lets candidates ask their own questions about the role in a closing Q&A stage. Most candidates finish the call within 10 minutes and rate it favourably. There's a consent gate before the call begins and a mic/camera check; candidates who decline don't proceed.

Frequently asked

How long does an AI video screening call take?

Typical target is 5–10 minutes including a closing Q&A where the candidate can ask about the role. The exact length and follow-up budget are configured per role during onboarding, shorter calls for quick gates, longer for roles where depth matters.

What language does Sarah speak?

English-only at the moment. Sarah's turn-detection, prompt, and Deepgram Aura-2 TTS are all English-specific. Multi-language screening is on the roadmap but the recommended use today is English-speaking roles.

How does pricing work for the screening calls?

Pricing is configured per recruiter, volume, role-mix, and the call configuration shape the package. Talk to the founder for a quote on your specific volume and we'll set you up with a plan that makes sense for your hiring cadence.

Can recruiters try a screening call themselves before going live?

Yes, every assessment has a "Try AI Screening" button that runs you through the exact same call your candidates will get, with the latest question set. Each click resets the try-state cleanly, so you can iterate on questions and re-test until the call feels right.

What happens if a candidate disconnects mid-call?

Sarah pauses; the candidate resumes from the exact question they left off. Mid-question state is preserved per turn, when they reconnect, Sarah re-asks any unanswered question rather than skipping it. Phone calls, network drops, and doorbells are all survivable.

The other half of the interview: the recruiter deciding what to do with it. Ployo hands over the recording, the transcript and the per-requirement verdict, so the call can be checked rather than trusted.
